They can be used on hazardous machinery to ensure perimeter and access detection and point of operation detection, helping to prevent injury to personnel. Point of Operation Control light curtains (POC) are used specifically for finger, hand and arm recognition and should be placed close to the hazard where personnel interact with the machine. This type of safety system uses a transmitter which emits sequential pulses of infrared light to a receiver. When the beams are interrupted a stop signal is immediately sent to the machine._x000D_ These GuardShield Light Curtains are self-contained two-box Type 4 Electro Sensitive Protective equipment (ESPE).
