The units are capable of taking readings from more dated equipment and their components have a maximum operating temperature of +200°C._x000D_ These highly versatile plugs are safely encased in glass-filled thermoplastic and have a negative copper-nickel leg and positive iron leg. Type J thermocouple connectors stand up well to sustained temperatures up to +200°C but display shorter lifespans at higher temperatures. This is due to the iron pin undergoing a molecular change.
