It can detect physical objects, calculate distances and measure changes in surface conditions._x000D_ It achieves this by emitting a beam of electromagnetic radiation (light) and measuring alterations in the return signal (reflection). When the beam of light meets an object, the receiver captures the reflection and converts it into an electrical output in less than 2.5 milliseconds._x000D_ This sensor is part of the RS PRO range. It's both sturdy and compact and has an IP67 body so it's water-resistant and dustproof. Both the source of light and the receptor are within the unit, so you can transport and install it easily.
