Regular vibration measurements on all critical machines as part of the maintenance regime can detect early signs of failure and provide a way to eliminate these problems. Bearing wear, poor balance and loose mounting all lead to the failure of rotating machinery. Unexpected machinery failure leads to unplanned maintenance costs, loss of production plus potential Health and Safety hazards. The dc (velocity) outputs integrate this complex signal into a simple dc signal of 4-20mA proportional to the overall vibration of the machine, ideal for monitoring with all types of industrial controllers.
